What’s the purpose of this post homie? It’s like me going to a Battlefield 1 forum and saying what’s with these graphics, I prefer retro 8 bit games? Graphic aesthitc preference is subjective, I’m ignoring your super outdated and irrelevant picture because in the end, quality and style are 2 separate attributes.
just go play a different game!
My thinking… luckily discussion triggered a few interesting responses too, but seriously, if one is obviously clueless about the gameplay, posting random outdated screenshots like hey if I would play this I would tell y’all how it has to look, well, what shall I say but
(Hint: WOW got crappy graphics as well, not realistic at all! Millions of players must have been tricked into playing… )
Yea, this post honestly made me a little annoyed.
Any way around it,
-
point taken
-
preferences will vary by person
-
being accessible to the largest possible audience across many platforms considering what people can afford in terms of hardware and internet capabilities is in our best interest
-
there are endless styles of art, and something being not lifelike is not inherently equivalent to bad.
Let’s be careful to not let this devolve.
P.S. We are very protective of our beloved game. That should speak for itself regarding its quality. And despite OP personally preferring realistic graphics, and I do know at least one person who is the same (so he misses out on a lot of good games), it has been stated that the development team’s vision will not head in that lifelike direction, so that’s pretty much that.
So, if you’re willing to give Orbus a shot despite your usual preferences, we’d be happy to welcome you. If non-realistic is an automatic no for you like it is for my old acquaintance, I guess this is goodbye. I’m sure something will come along to cater to your, and others, lifelike preferences before long. It just won’t be here.
This thread is basically “i like this game but imagine there would be a game thats like hyperrealistic as in ready player one etc, please make THAT”
I don’t think it has much of a meaningful contribution to the game at this time but is more some general VR dreaming, which we can all get behind in that regard.
They are following a cartoonish art style, of course, it doesn’t look realistic, but it looks good and unique.
I don’t really get your point.
Why did you think it is a good idea to choose pictures from the alpha days as an example anyways, back then they didn’t even have ground textures.
I mean there is a difference between this and this.
Now it looks like you didnt do any research at all before writing this post…
I feel like everything has been said and people are repeating the same over and over now…
I think the thread has run its course though I’d like to remind everyone to remain respectful (which in general most of you did) and not hostile to people coming to post different opinions or criticism.
Link1, hopefully Robert’s post above in the thread gave you some insight as a response to the original comment, and we appreciate the feedback and suggestions. Like he mentioned, we’re working on improving the visuals of the game greatly and we hope you enjoy the game if you are trying it out.
