This “initial roll” has the same chance to give you a drop as the combined chance of killing two bosses. Or, put another way it’s double the chance of a normal boss drop.

I know you said this doubles our chances but, does this double our “luck” as well since it is only one chance. i.e. if I have 100 luck, when it makes the roll does it make it at 200 luck?

I also would love if TM dyes would drop from shards because they are insanely (1%?) rare and no one wants to farm TM bosses with no hope of improved gear
