when you say you are getting 60m from the boss in the rooms, are you looking at the big number or the small number? because the range is the small number and is much lower.
[/quote] I was looking at shot power not the range. The range numbers are so small I can’t read them on my head set(og vive) unless I put my bow to my face. Thank you for pointing out my error.
Yea, that confused me for a while too. I dont even know what the shot score is used for anymore. I think they should remove it and just make the range text bigger
Because that is what makes mage a good class. One of the reasons rapidity got a cap was because people were hurting themselves, so maybe you should discuss this with Riley instead of trying to add a cap to a class that is only fun/hard because it doesn’t have one.
Multiple people have hurt themselves playing mage as well. That is another reason why mage needs a cap.
This is a terrible excuse. As one of the fasters casters in the game, I NEVER feel any pain from playing the class. If people do seem to be hurting themselves playing the class, then for 1 they probably aren’t that good at it, and 2 they are doing it wrong. The people hurting themselves are normally players that are just starting out that have to hold their arm all the way out to get a single spell out, and as we all know this is very difficult to maintain. A cap would do nothing to protect these players, that are already going much slower than the cap would allow them to go.
cool story, sounds exactly the same as rapidity ranger…
people hurting themselves is a perfect excuse for ranger cap but a terrible excuse for mage
unless ur saying that because its mage getting the exact muscle memory from practice is a matter of skill while for ranger getting the exact muscle memory from practice is a matter of… not skill?
Shiki would say the same thing about the ranger cap:) To your point there are plenty of good mages top 5% that have hurt themselves playing mage and do not play the game anymore or switched classes. Not sure how old you are but VR affects everyone differently and will effect a 20 year old differently than a 40 yr old.
Except rapidity rangers actually benefited from playing that way. Mages that play with their arm sticking all the way out can only maintain that for a minute or 2 before the strain sets in on their arms, making it significantly more difficult to play this way, or in other words, a mage does not benefit from playing with their arm pointed outwards. However, a rapidity ranger benefits from shooting as cast as they can, so there would be no reason for them to ever stop shooting quickly because that is simply the best way to play with that talent.
Most “injuries” from the runemage class are due to people holding their arms in abstract ways to cast spells. If I hold my arm in these ways then I could easily hurt myself, but I don’t. I hold the wand close to my body to maintain control over it, and to not injure my arm in the process, and this is the most efficient way to play the class. Adding a cap would only effect the people playing the class in the way that it is most efficient. Which just happens to be the most safe way to play the class.
but what you just said implies that mages dont get a dps boost from casting as fast as possible, which is the exact reason they are OP
and i have no clue what u mean by playing with their arm pointed outwards
The exact chronology of what happened when ranger was capped was that Rapidity rangers were going beyond what riley expected, were getting higher DPS, and were immediatly nerfed having 50% + of their dps removed. people hurting themselves had no impact on this. Riley has already made a way to play ranger without going that fast(precision) so why is that a argument
THEIR IS A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE IN USER ERROR HURTING THEMSELVES ON A CLASS AND A BROKEN CLASS. NOT ALL RAPIDITY RANGERS KILL THEMSELVES PLAYING THE CLASS JUST LIKE HOW NOT ALL MAGES KILL THEMSELVES, BUT IN BOTH CASES SOME DO
Have you really never seen a mage hold their arm all the way out, so when they begin to cast the spell will be on a 2d plain? This happens all the time.
Putting a cap on it would also make it a level playing field for all mages. No more worrying about ping or crappy computer. Like I said before, the skill should come from the ability to draw perfect spells and timing them based off the cap.
but what does that have to do with this? i am saying that if riley refuses to add a cap then he should remove rangers cap?
Why fight the removal of a dps cap ON THE WEAKEST WAY TO PLAY DPS ON ANY CLASS
stupid people will hurt themselves no matter what class they play, so why is that reason to nerf one class because a few people got hurt for being stupid and not another class even though the same stupid people hurt themselves there as well
Calm the baby rage down and lets handle this rationally. As I have said before, the best way to play rapidity is to shoot arrows as fast as possible, so there is nothing to stop people from doing this so that then can achieve max DPS. As a mage, holding the wand in a was that it will hurt you is the worst way to play the class. Meaning that if they ever wanted to be good as a mage, then they would have to stop playing in the way that hurts them. Which means a cap wouldn’t benefit any of the players that are holding their wands in these ways because they aren’t fast enough to reach the cap anyway.
hold up, u realize there is a hard coded max arrow per second you can shoot, or else all arrows do 1 damage, right?
this was added back in original orbus beta…
This is also a crappy excuse. My ping is a constant 30-33, while J’s ping is above 100, but we are still both in the 1%
Yes obviously, as I said before this is one of the reasons the cap was added in the first place. If it were to never be added, then people would still be hurting themselves trying to do max DPS. Everything I have written above was about rapidity before it was capped because we were talking about caps on classes.
except even what u say we should do is impossible
I literally just told you that I was speaking about rapidity pre nerf/cap
pardon my ignorance but can u please quote where u said u were talking about it being pre nerf in context?
and pardon my ignorance again, but were you there for pre nerf and can you quote anyone who was actually pre nerf
