Just colossus, we cleared out the whole cave and waited around a while but not there

ok ill check the spawner

Too fast. This game will not last if everyone gets to max too soon.

So on an imported Level 20 character you are going to get a pretty significant ā€œboostā€ because you have all the missions to 20 unlocked for all the types to basically give you a head start. So yeah it will not go that fast on a fresh Level 1 character. I’m still waiting to see what people say it ends up being but our estimate is around 50-75 hours depending on how much you are willing to do every mission, grind, do public events, etc.

Of course I could be totally wrong and if that’s the case let us know

Given that I’m at level 11 on a fresh character with 2.5 hours of play… You’re suggesting that the next 19 will take me 47.5 hours minimum? I definitely don’t think that’s the case…

You are definitely way ahead of schedule. Have you just been doing all the missions?

I barely did anything, I felt like. Mostly goofed around

Haha, okay. Well it’s just really interesting because we have some people who are saying they are running out of stuff to do and feel like they are going to have to grind like crazy, and then other people who are saying they’re like 5 hours or less in and already Level 10+ and barely did anything…so not sure what to think.

Is your character name Atropos too?

EDIT: I double-checked and our estimate is around 7-9 hours to get to Level 11. So if it only took you 2.5 you are pretty far ahead. But it’s not like it’s supposed to take 1/3 of the time to get to 11, the leveling does slow down the higher you get, as with most MMOs.

The third quest for Water Slide (lv23) requires about half a second more than the higher score on the leaderboard.
Same for the second quest for Second Chance (lv18/19 i believe)

Close to 5.5 hours on Atropine now, level 14 and halfway to next. It definitely slowed down after level 11. To be fair, though, I also spent a fair hour of that in dungeons - and am able to confirm that if you’re dead at end of bossfight, you don’t get the xp from the win. Chest came, but no xp.

I hit level 30 on a fresh character and i think the leveling curve is fine as it is now, i don’t know about the exact hours (you can probably check) but i’ve been playing a lot since the start of the test.
I did all the dragon racing and critter capture quests, most of the battlegrounds, salvaging and monster hunter quests, very few public events quests and i completely ignored the fishing quests. So it looks like your intent of ā€œyou can skip 2-3 categories to get to level 30ā€ is correct.

I didn’t get any special achievement other than the grand master ranger which you can get on an imported character too, is that intended for the beta?

The achievement won’t be given yet, all new characters were ā€œflaggedā€ though and then I will run a script to hand it out after the game actually starts up.

I’m 29 on a fresh character and I’ve skipped the races and fish. I’ve done a mix of quests and world events while I was in zones doing those quests. I feel there are plenty of quests to level a fresh 30 and then some. I think the current XP curve is good. Us more experienced players are cutting out a lot of learning curve time that new players will have. We can just get in and start hammering at the XP. I will say I have managed to get from 1-29 without going further than Lavamora and Rainforst though. But I’m wastaly dumping quests I’ve out leveled into my main character where as in release I’d more strategically use them on an alt.

No, it is not fast, most of the people powerleveling right now are veterans of the game or at least familiar with it (and former betas), go in groups with mages able to wipe mobs and experienced tanks etc. So they are expected to level fast also I got to 10something on the first day, which is also expected, the HS area is the easiest, problems only start when leaving it and leaving more and more quests open, too.

I’m not sure about my playtime but I don’t think I will make it to 30 in 50 hours. Again, I run out of quests, mainly because I focus on kill-quests and die alot, not able to single out the things I should kill. Basically all the mobs in Lamavora are best in a group as well as the events which do not seems solo-able like in former areas.

50-70h per class seems a LOT if I want to play all classes, or most of them and afais it is not even clear yet how we should level alt-classes, with the remaining quests this seems hardly possible, most of mine are open for a reason.

That amount in a sum, 400-560h, well amounts to an average player’s entire endgame-playtime over the last year and I actually hope it is not that much, because I want to focus on the endgame and be done with my classes before new content comes out.

And to add to that, since all posts are bug-reports or critical, actually I love the new quest system, finding frequent new tasks and especially doable things like just another Lich King dragon race, one of the few races I can finish is great!
I also like the centralized idea with HS more than most, specially that dungeons are all in one place now.

But, it would be awesome to up the number of quests, specially for levels 20+, so we can safely skip at least 3 categories of them (like group/dungeon, bg, dragons); and make them drop per class for our poor alts.

Also, weekly quests are nice, but not enough, please give us daily quests! Having a reason to loggin in daily to see what’s new would be great!

I mean, what’s the bad thing about being flooded with quests to choose from, for me it feels very good to have a choice. People who want to be fast are in the game all day this or that way and will just camp the events instead to powerlevel which is much more boring tho.

So one thing I’m curious about: is there any reason to fight higher-level enemies? Like, do they have better drop pools? It seems like you can just sit outside highsteppe and farm the level 1 enemies and just keep getting xp and loot and level-appropriate gear. That doesn’t quite seem right to me.
