Closed Beta 4 Feedback

don’t be mad but,
you can explore the world and have fun while avoiding the issues you brought up. has nothing to do with the value of levels in the game. also those reasons are definitely reasons to play Orbus Vr. but if you’re against doing stuff by yourself for yourself like in the real world. then yes this game is NOT for you. this game doesn’t “hide” information besides what’s not present because BETA. the truth is that every single other mmo you have played ‘provides you with information.’ this game is like real life, sink or swim. complain about not knowing what to do after skipping the quest text and GG. in a real world you need to know what to do, investigate what to do, ask what to do…not have a million cheat-sheets everywhere telling you how to do everything and in which order. granted some things in life are really complicated. but imagine learning how to craft potions via trial and error. that would take a long time simply because the amount of possible combinations (mostly incorrect ones). I, at least, would play this game for that feeling of discovery and invention and exploration. I’m just saying that what you want is understandable, but not what i want. and so it depends on the vision of the developer, seems from his past posts that he’d like this to be a real world sort of experience. some people will just not like to learn or discover things in this sort of setting. just pretend like you are now born in Orbus VR, there are few rules lots of limitations, just figure it out and eventually you will be able to know about and do many or all of the things that world has to offer. Use your intuition if you’re at a loss.

I’m mixed about the Escort quests (done the Pilgrim and Donkey), I dislike escorts in general and in most MMOs I’ve played, I’d rather quit then do some of them. In OrbusVR I found it quite entertaining. The Pilgrim was Hard definitely, was not able to solo it (lvl 7-8 Runemage). Which yes, it was frustrating after trying it 4-5 times. So I wandered off, did other things for a while and then went back to find other players trying it. Perfect, we made friends, chatted and made fun of the Pilgrim as he ran the wrong way. And then continued our group to get the Donkey escorted. That’s one of the many things I love about OrbusVR, it’s so easy to chat and make friends. I hate text chatting in other games as there’s always players that will be rude or obscene to players that just want to ask a question.
It would be nice if the Pilgrim didn’t run back to start because he ‘needed’ to since that was the last place he wasn’t in combat(or running). But any escort I’ve done in WoW acts the same way so it really isn’t unexpected.
The challenge of trying it on my own, or in a smaller party(as I’m helping others) means I’m learning my class better, using polymorph to reduce the mobs for a minute, casting mana shield to protect myself or party members. Maybe I’m still failing, and possibly frustrated, but I’m learning and improving.
My only comment would be to have more quests available, so that when we need that ‘time out’ from a specific quest, there’s another option besides fishing or grinding. Or maybe that’s already planned and just not in the Beta

in terms of character progression, i get you and i’d love more stuff every time i lvl or at least some times. right now you level up for the ability to fight stronger monsters who can drop stronger items as well as rarer items.

I also kind of feel like the levels in between 1 and max are a bit of a filler, i just want to get endgame so i can farm for awesome gear and get the stats i want, do whatever runecrafting is and do the dungeons and raids with friends. i think the problem stems from the lack of usefulness for lower level characters. besides level specific dungeons there’s not much we need low level characters for. in wow there’s PVP you can do specifically for low lvls, there’s a huge world dedicated to each level range within 5 levels. but even wow’s world was abandoned largely once most people got a max lvl character. I think it’s just common to aim for endgame and have the game really be about that endgame content. that’s where all the new stuff will be. it would be awesome to always get new low lvl quests but if ur max idk if this would be wasted…

I completely agree with this!!! When we get hit, we need more of a response. Especially if the devs want to have a moderately realistic experience. If you get punched in real life, your body feels it. If you get punched in orbus, your controllers should vibrate :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve wanted this for a long while.

I think that is a great idea. It would be nice for some haptic feedback as your getting attacked, especially from behind, but not too much, don’t want to mess up my spellcasts:)

Hey I haven’t really been to the winter or desert zones at the correct level so i don’t know what you need to do over there, but what do you think about adding some sort of survival mechanics to certain areas like these. It would be interesting to worry about freezing to death or overheating or what-have-you. Campfire can help with cold and if there will ever be food maybe you need to eat often to not starve  maybe a small tent to chill in while it’s hot, idk. might as well throw in an umbrella for when it rains, jk, maybe. i’m probably talking about a whole other game by now :stuck_out_tongue:

oh and another question, do you think you’ll be adding any sort of magic find type of affix? I was thinking that would be awesome for farming later on, or maybe a mechanic where if you clear out an area of a certain type of monster it has a chance to spawn a special shinier version of that monster that drops rarer items or something. more consistency for grinding gear or whatever, maybe sometimes it drops a bunch of crafted mats, sometimes gear, or a unique tool to help fight against that specific species of monster.

Does intellect boost threat generated when using provoke combo too or just the damage done?

It boosts both, because the amount of threat that you generate is based on the amount of damage you do.

This is likely a known issue …I did the quest for the crime boss, the one getting the key in the jungle. After I got the key and the payment from the general I teleported back to town. I got stuck in limbo though and returned to graveyard. My quest item was lost in the process.

if you havent logged off yet, can you send us a bug report via the launcher, I havent heard this specific one yet.

It happened last night, I just did it all over again without any issues.

oh okay, thanks for the feedback ill keep an eye out for anyone else having the same bug

Just had the worst teleport glitch I’ve had yet, trying to teleport on to the bridge to guild city. took me all the way to the king stag area of highstepe.

Had you just recently used a teleport portal or something? And before it teleported you back, did you notice if you were seeing NPCs and monsters around you?

No on the portal, yes on the mobs and the airship was flying over as well.

The King Stag area? That’s where the portal stone is for that…so my guess is that someone portal’ed you. I doubt they did it to you directly because you probably would have noticed, but are there still clones in the game floating around? If you portal someone’s clone it does it to them…

Is there anyone who portaled them/a clone of them? If so please let me know so I can figure out if this is a bug, haha.

not all the way to that area actually more near the old lady, by the house. I was on her side of the fence.

I had just gotten the quest from her, and was on my way to guild city.

Oh I see, okay. Interesting. Alright, well I’m not totally sure what’s going on then. I’ll look and see if the logs tell me anything.
